Selina Mathur

Selina Mathur, LPCC is a licensed professional counselor licensed in the state of Ohio. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from Bowling Green University, with an emphasis on learning disabilities and emotional disturbances. Selina earned her Master’s Degree in School Counseling and a licensure in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Cleveland State University. Selina has been working professionally in the field for over 20 years in the following capacities: special education teacher, school counselor and mental health counselor. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and she is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization Regulation therapy (EMDR). Selina has professional experience working with children, adolescents and young adults treating anxiety, ADHD, trauma and mood disorders. Additionally, she has specialized training in multiple parent coaching programs including Love and Logic and Conscious Discipline.

Her outpatient therapy work encourages kids and teens to be more effective and successful in their school and home environments. Because of her background in education, Selina is a strong collaborator with schools and provides assistance with IEP/504 and other accommodation planning. Selina believes it is important to support the entire family system when working with youth; therefore, holistic work considers all internal and external factors including (but not limited to): peer and family relationships, academic performance and psychological well-being.

On a personal note, Selina likes to spend time with her family and friends taking part in activities such as traveling, attending her children’s sports events and shopping. She regularly practices yoga, meditation and generally maintaining awareness in the present moment.
