Ana Kleihege

LSW

Ms. Ana Kleihege, LSW (she/her) is a licensed social worker who has worked in the mental health field for over five years with a focus in child and adolescent psychotherapy. She earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University. Previously, she studied neuroscience and psychology with a specialization in developmental psychology. Ana has worked with children, adolescents and adults across several settings (i.e. schools, hospitals, private practice) and levels of care. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression/mood, behavioral issues, and trauma. Additionally, she enjoys supporting youth and young adults through life challenges and transitions and has partnered with local high-achieving schools to support students experiencing achievement-related pressure.

Ana is committed to using evidence-based practice and she is a certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist through the EMDR Institute in Watsonville, California. Ana will complete her certification in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) in the Fall of 2023. Additionally, Ana is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, play therapy and somatic-based interventions. Ana believes the therapeutic relationship to be at the foundation of treatment and feels it is important to engage families in treatment to ensure lasting, positive growth. She often uses art, play activities and humor to achieve therapeutic goals in an effective, yet fun, way.

On a personal note, Ana loves being outdoors. She is always ready to hike, work in her garden, or spend the day at the beach. She spends lots of time with her family and friends eating good food and having meaningful conversations. She also loves to go on long car rides with the windows down and the music turned up!
